Pretty easy to test by just checking the character sheet before and after putting a point in.

The skill icon should also say "adds elemental damage to weapon"

For what do you farm them? Sacred uniques? Go for Diablo. I personally would go for Nilathak or Duncraig.

yeah ive had multiple level 120 characters with the best TU gear they can have w/ good orbs and have never fifnished black road challenge and die instantly in fauztvill, and have never droped a SU
