@LegendZelda open save folder (D2\save or D2\MODS\D2SE - Median XL\save), zip files _LOD_SharedStashSave.sss, <your character>.d2s, <your character>.d2x and upload them to any file sharing service, e.g. zippyshare.com

@both: maybe it's trying to load previous character from MXLU XVI? You can try running disable_auto_load.reg and then opening the application.

sent you the character i made fresh in a PM. also tried disable_auto_load.reg and still not working

I think that program files is the issue, as some time ago someone also reported this. Will try to fix in the upcoming update.
Could you try loading a character not from program files to verify that it's not crashing?

im gonna uninstall all my d2's and mods and just install median xl and then try it all again. let you know if that helps. right now i got d2, path of diablo, median xl. so something there could be messing things up
EDIT: so i deleted and uninstalled my other diablo games.
went in and made a new character in median.
new location for character (This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Median XL > Save)
it opened up and loaded in the offline tool perfectly
maybe this will help others who have multi D2 games / mods.

no, it's not necessary at all. Just copy your .d2s file to another location (e.g. disk D) and try to load from there, it should work just fine. (your save file doesn't cause any issues on my side)
