I get enough of this from my Communist professors and classmates at Cal State.. "I'm a tri-gendered demiqueer, please respect my pronouns."

Is nothing sacred? Not even MXL is immune to the taint of cultural marxism/identitarian neuroses? RIP.

Apologies. We should ban the Neuter-ed-din from military service then since he is cuasing so much anguish and confusion. :bounce:

It's not as fun when you have to tag it, actually in a lot of cases it's retarded. Reminds me of the reddit "/s" they always put, like they're afraid to "offend" some people who didn't realize they were sarcastic. Sometimes tagging sarcasm fits, sometimes it doesn't. imo it's never necessary.

First of all: sarcasm can't be understand when you don't hear the correct pronounciation. So ofc, if this is lacking you need some other method to express your opinion correctly. Else other people might misinterpret it and in the end the one who tried to be sarcastic is the fool. Turning your text blue is not that hard. It's 2 clicks and it greatly helps with expressing and understanding your opinion.

Is misinterpreting fun? No it only raises stupid discussions. So it basically increases spamming of unnecessary texts.

Are people trying to not offend other people? No, because sarcasm is used to make fun of something someone said, so when you're using sarcasm you're already prepared for people complaining about possibly offending. Those are people that are easily offended and should be avoided, but it will happen at some point Either way.

Is tagging sarcasm necessary? If you want people to understand you, yes. If you want to look like a fool, no.

So is it retarded to tag sarcasm? No, in fact it's the best thing you can do. Due to language not being the best way to express things (what I mean is: even when you say something it still can be interpreted differently depending on the person. So figuring out the ultimately correct way to express something is not a given at all times. See, even the necessity of me explaining what I said before is proof enough of that.) a sarcasm tag is only benefitting everyone.
