Come on now, switching to a new class isn't an acceptable tip in the case. With the clumsy skill switching mechanics implemented in this very outdated engine, it's reasonable to want some quality of life like less skill switch.

Then play melee necro with parasite or something silly, you can't play a build that need skillswitching then refuse to skillswitch. It just cripples the build

Venom sting isn't enough to takecare fast of the phys immunes...

My only point in this particular case, is that I think it's reasonable to want less micromanagement.

Consider a necromancer, with all the buffs he has. You have totems which disappear when too far away, Black Mass, Rathma's Chosen, Bane, and burning veil. This doesnt count oskills like Dark Power.

You have all these skills usable at your disposal, but who in their right mind would ever want to micromanage that? If you do put in the work, it would be insanely overpowered to use all of them, but it just feels horrible so nobody will. Things can always be done to avoid clunky gameplays.

Well that's the whole point of a hack and slash game. At a certain point where your character is at full potential with perfect high end gear, the only thing that will make the difference is how you micro your skills. Take the kraken overkiller barb for example. It's easy just to buff up with bloodlust, beacon, rapture and overkill all the way, but it's a lot more efficient to use screaming eagle with snake stance, and that other debuff skill (can't remember it's name) and then change back to kraken stance and overkill. This second playstyle results in faster killspeed and shorter farming times. Not to speak of changing to eagle stance from time to time to heal up efficiently while still attacking and wolf stance to move faster in empty spots. But who am I to judge? Everyone plays the game how he wants to .
