Proc Sin, questions

Hello, I'm currently playing assassin based on procs.

I wanted to use dual claws, with Noctule to proc all the on striking effects (I am dual wielding Judge RW).

So I have a few questions:

Noctule is a dual wielding attack, does it mean it hits with both weapons at once instead of alternating?
If yes, does it mean I have 50% to activate the procs instead of 25% per hit?
Also, can all the bats activate them?
Does it have a ND?

If Noctule is a bad idea here, what are your suggestions about Melee (so no ATMG/WYRD) assassin based on procs?
I have thought about using Crucify to start up and then relying on Ligeia RW shield. If I am understanding it correctly, it would be constantly proccing hades hate, which would be proccing on striking, which would be killing thins and proccing hades gate again :)

The other thing is, I am currently lvl ~105 and I have 2k hp. Which means i rarely get hit, but if I get unlucky and get hit two-three times in a row I am dead. Any way to remedy this? From what I've noticed most other classes have some sort of survivability skill and all I have is Perfect Being.

Thanks for the answers!

Hello there.

When you use dual wielding skills, you only get procs from individual weapons striking/attacking/killing etc. So:

1) For the melee hit you have the following options. Either only the left claw procs Forked Lightning; or only the right Claw procs Forked Lightning; or both claws proc it. So when using Noctule to attack, in 18% of the cases you will proc a Forked Lightning and in 1% of the cases you will proc TWO Forked Lightnings.

2) For the melee hit, the same applies to the 25% Thunder Hammer on striking. So 37.5% of the time you get 1 hammer and in 6.25% of the time you get 2 hammers.

3) As far as the bats are concerned. I believe that they are WDM projectiles and so inherit both on striking modifiers from your claws. So any bat striking an enemy should have 50% chance to cast a thunder hammer. Due to the mechanics of the skill (initial hit spawns projectiles in a small aoe, which on hitting an enemy will spawn two bats going north and south) I assume it has no ND.

Dual claw assassin has not been explored in guides/posts on the forums too much, because they just got two skills in the latest version and people love to build the same cookie cutter ATMG / broadside naginata builds.

Your defence issues are why Assassin's are the most beginner unfriendly class. They have no passive defence apart from Perfect Being in the early/mid game. Later on you add to that maxed block, either from a shield or your Bloodbath passive. So you will have to rely on active defense. This includes keeping Shadow Refuge up at all times, using barrier strike to prevent yourself from getting surrounded and blinking to keep enemies stun locked.

Thanks for the answers!

Your description have me some hope that my idea to use Noctule has some merit after all!
I'll try to get a bit more Dex (currently about 900, so only 18% to block) and invest in Shadow Refuge.

Have a nice day!

I'm curious if it works this way. I've always been confused about offhand weapon and which stats apply.
LFAQ tries to clarify that, but I still don't quite get it.
How I understand it: you only get offhand offensive stats when you actually swing the weapon, any projectiles created afterwards carry only you main weapon's offensive stats.

This should be, however, easy to test. MH - no %ctc OH - proc weapon and see if bat projectiles proc thunder hammer. I don't have an assassin, so can't do it myself.

Yes I am not 100% sure on that point myself, as far as the bats are concerned, but you do swing both weapons with Noctule because it is a dual wielding skill so I assume the projectiles will inherit the stats from both the weapons.

Loosk like you're right. I tested deathgaze, which I suppose acts very much like noctule. Crushing blow from offhand applied to all projectiles generated. It's safe to assume %ctc would also work.

i don't know if the game was fixed since i played (a lot of )dual wielding barbs and assasins , but 2/3/4 years ago when i did , the bug(?) was there , you could proc from offhand (but not as often as from main hand , something like 1/4 chance from the normal chance - 40%=10% offhand proc- iirc. ) ; also , dual wielding the same weapon increases the chance to proc (but not double) ---> when you hit/kill using the dual wield skill , there is when you have a chance to proc from offhand , but if you hit a pack of monsters with an aoe (let's say TSLAM as example) attack that carries poison damage then stand still and look at them die from poisoning , no proc from offhand will be trigered .

Have you actually tested the setup and can confirm 100% that thunder hammer from OH won't proc?
