I remember playing a Paladin once and had the same problem. I could be wrong, but I think you need to meet a minimum DEX threshold per clvl to have a CtB. Looks like you're using PlugY, so try diverting a few more points into DEX. Curious to see if that changes things.

Chance to Block = [Block% * (Dexterity - 15) ]/ (2 * Character_Level)

in your case (0x118) / (2x38) = 0

get a barbarian only shield on and you will get a base of 1%ctb -> (1x118) / (2x38) = 1.5 ctb

the barbarian has 0% ctb by default , so that tower shield you got on it's not helping , as it only provides class chance to block . replace it asap with a gilded shield

if you want a decent/max block chance without going full dexterity , get a 2% ctb shield (1%+1%) starting with the mid game . using the formula above , you will need just 2265 dexterity for max block at level 120 ( example : https://imgur.com/c2hZCm8 )

Okay if its just that I'm at 0 that's all good as long as my UI isnt freaking out

tyvm for the math. Seem's like without any +CTB you will always have 0% block anyways because (0x#) /# = 0 ... assuming my math is right.

Ty will keep an eye out for any other shield, havent really had much luck on drops so far. First time playing, but its been fun so far.

you can also gamble for the (base) items you need. you don't need to wait for them to drop . get some gold in your pockets and gamble for a gilded shield. i'm sure you can get one in a couple of minutes

it doesn't matter . you can get one since act 1 . at your level it's easy to gamble for one in any act . get a gilded one , no matter the quality and make it unique (
