Mini Automap gone? (Solution in thread)

I believe I figured it out with the help of someone else. On the launcher go into setting then application data. Click save and go into the preferences.json scroll to auto map fade set to 1 and automapmode to 1

Excellent, it works and thank u, this setting was always my 2nd after keybinds in game. And now (to draw it down) one needs to launch the MXL Launcher, click Gear icon (top right next to minimize), click the Application Data (bottom right in red), and then a folder opens with a subfolder named "save" in which one needs to open "settings.json" with a text editor (like notepad) and at the bottom of the list you need to change the value to 1 of "legacy_automapfade" and "legacy_automapmode".

I might be wrong there, but wasn't possible to switch between mini map mode and full map mode with tab in the vanilla? If it was possible would be the automapmode option be set something else?
