I rather have my balls get shot than work at blizzard..

Anyway. Anyone heard of Age of Empires II HD? This smells like the same thing. Refurbrish game for ~1 month worktime and re-release it and get a crapload of money. That or they make it free, but it's highly doubtful blizzard would make something free. Also I'd be surprised if they actually fix bugs without inserting a whole new spectrum of bugs. Very surprised.

Btw, I'm pretty sure whatever they do, PvPGN will not work with it and I'm also tempted to think modding won't be an option either.

I don't know the exact details, but AoE2 HD came into being after modders made the unofficial expasion Age of Forgotten, later (now) this became an official expansion, and the HD build compiles all campaigns and ads 5 new civilizations, new units and tech for existing civs, the ludakris size map, and various other additions and tweaks. I played it and i'm satisfied with what they did. It has the same flavor of the original and works on modern systems, i don't think they can do more without making a new game.

And coming back on track, i have little hope for a better D2LoD game being made, or another expansion, i feel it's just gonna be compatible with newer systems, and no other major changes.

Dont worry, they wouldnt accept you to the team anyways  (unnecessary sarcasm)

btw it would be great if they add official mod support like in Skyrim (im sure they wont do it). I think they will fix the bugs, multiplayer problems, compatibility issues and add classic concepts like (not sure with this one):

Auto Gold Pickup
Item Comparison (Like in d3)
Skill Cooldown Timer
Higher Res Support

(The list above is just examples and ideas. All of them are done in the keep btw)

True, but it's a different story here. AoFE is mostly an expansion pack, and the changes in balance are really minor and adequate for the most part. Also it brought a lot of utility and compatibility, with the integration of UserPatch 1.4. This was a win-win for both sides as Cysion had his mod become more popular and microsoft (or whoever) got free developed expansion to bring more content to the game and then new players.

Median on the other hand is a full conversion mod, it has its own laws and terms. It is based mostly in the .txt files, and I'm pretty sure whatever blizzard does to handle content, will no longer be stored in .txt files (let's face it, it's nearly 2016). That said

Median will not be compatible: maybe they decide to allow some kind of modding. But even so, porting everything will be an impossible work. Also all future edits from Sigma will not work either.

PvPGN will not be compatible: no more private servers. PvPGN exists because a mistake on blizzard's side leaving a server-side file in the early game installation files. I highly doubt they will support 3rd party servers. Instead, I assume they'll finally get rid of bots (to some degree) and promote people to play on original Battle.net

How does that affect me in any way? If I had 5 years experience using C and ended up working for a company full of retards, I would be very sad. Luckily I have better ambitions, one of them is not having someone tell me what I have to do, another one is making genuine content and not be a moneywhore.

I agree with that. I quit my freelance job only because i hate when someone tells me what to do, and their strategies were wrong in many ways. Now im going to be a comptetior of them

I wonder if they're interested in my work at all? Probably not, but contract work with Blizzard would be one hell of a thing to have on the ol' resume.

Considering they want people with experience with ASM and such, do they not have access to BNorth's src?
