Why not? Technically its not a point in your stance tree. If it doesnt work, then it should in my opinion. Either that or change the wording on the item

Kraken scales off points into other stances. You need to max atleast 2 other stances for kraken dealing any reasonable damage.
Techically you can do this, but it is going to be not very good (disaster shit garbage)

the ssu light plate with wolf stance when equipped works with it though. that would be one of your best options

Why? Back in cLoD the rw Dream didn't just give a level 3 holy shock aura when equipped on a paladin. Or did I miss something?

well its lvl 1 when equipped, not an oskill, so you basically get a free stance. its nice

@HH, aura when equpped and oskill are different things. You can have any level of oskill on an item, but class to which it belongs gonna see it as +3.
@LH, I didnt understand you properly I think. I thought you wanted to scale kraken via wolf stance oskill, but seems you just want to use it as main stance.

Nvm, this armor used to give oskill, sry for confusion.
