I don't mean to be that guy... but...

into -> onto (not actually sure about this one, neither seem right, maybe change it to like "The guardians of hell have descended upon this night!")
(just looks slightly unprofessional if you post this anywhere else and people who see that image are like "omfg median makers cant even spell probably shit game")

Maybe another small thing is if someone is killing a boss and this popup flares in your face it can be extremely distracating (espec. hardcore).

Other than that, I like the idea, I like the UI, keep up the awesome work!

Of course, that was already planned :P

Also it would be great if this "spawn item in inventory" feature can be applied to other server first challenges that we already run like first destruction baal kill for example. or first char to reach lvl X. In these cases it would be just a blank charm that says "winner of X contest" and maybe gives some visual only state. If this is possible, then being able to separate first HC & SC kills detection would be cool too.


Yes, that's all possible, didn't think about these events at first.

Also the diablo picture in that event is a placeholder I guess, since he doesn't have to be related to the event any more.


Well the window is an image, Marco can change it at his will. I just figured he would want to keep the dclone event since that's quite a classic event (one does not simply remove it). After all it would be easy to change it in ultimative too, by modifying the monster's monstats record (HcIdx 333)

cool stuff, only I would make the message much shorter and mysterious.

I don't dislike the concept of having announcements be displayed in a different way, I think it's a great idea. But I'm not sure pop-ups are the right solution.

Maybe it can be displayed like death message is displayed. Imagine a big creepy "Diablo walks the earth" in the middle of the screen :D I would do a mock-up, but I'm lazy :)

I've replaced the item requirements code today. A new item stat, allowing us to create conditionally class-specific items. As in, make an item that usually isn't class specific, class specific. Say you have this ordinary crown.

But you could also have the following crowns

And finally, the stat also allows us to create mercenary only items. This could be used to make some highly buffed items to improve mercenaries, without overpowering players.

its -> his* (diablo comes from spanish- the article is "el" in spanish which is the masculine article.)

Also, this isn't a you thing (more of a blizzard thing), but technically shouldn't it be "Diablo walks Sanctuary"?

Anyway, digression, I kind of feel what Marco is saying where it just doesn't seem thematically correct. The popup feels less like "The greatest evil in the entire game has come and every hero on the server is going to slay it", more like "Congratulations! You got an achievement for buying a potion."

Maybe another option, kinda what Marco said, would be to display something along the lines of "Diablo walks the earth" along the bottom of the screen near the buffs and on the lefthand side write the text that you have up there "but be quick! etcetcetc"

e.g. (terrible pdn writeup)

Preferably with some level of animation but I don't know how doable animations are in the D2 GUI (though they do have alot of sprites...)

Btw, whist, does creating new class-specific items mean that all sets now will be restricted to an appropriate class only e.g. all classes except an assassin won't have a chance to use

One in the same. As far as the bonus goes, I'm indifferent as the players may be confused as previous realm events have not had this requirement, but you know your playerbase better than I do. Not including the text also limits the possibility of doing multiple realm events where some don't have the 1-per-event requirement.
