A2 merc is no paladin. A1 merc is no amazon. A3 merc is no sorceress. Only A4 merc is an actual Barbarian, that's why the act 4 merc can use barbarian armor.

Thanks, much appreciated.

They are not 100% Barbarian, yes they can wear Barb's equipments, but they won't benefit from + Barb skill, only from + All skill

BTW, can someone please direct me to a page with possible cap to everything (dr, avoid,...)

The real difficulty of the fight is just trying to have a decent idea of what the hell is even going on and tracking stuff decently. I don't know much about asns, but it's a sustain and purify fight, mostly. You want pots (to function as antidotes just in case) and in general very high regen/avoid.

Some of Rathma's abilities:
AoE exploding zombie corpses -- medium damage, decent radius, probably fire/phys based. not a big deal.
AoE Star field -- high damage in a large area for a while; if you run through it, you're probably gonna need to pot
AoE punisher -- massive volley of solid damage Punishers that poison
Black flurry of stars -- only casts when you get close, slightly delayed before cast, probably a literal one-shot. Moves so fast that you likely can't get out of the way. Don't get hit, and if you get close to him, run like hell.
I think that's it though.

Then there's the invisible stuff that comes between the teleport areas, which I believe causes huge degen. Basically don't get hit a lot while debuffed.
Mendeln sometimes casts a true Sacred Armor and goes immune to all damage, and won't move while it's active. And throws out a cold wave that seems to do nothing.
His main ability throws out bolts that bounce. Not sure what the exact trigger for bouncing is, but your body can be used to trigger it. Keep Mendeln far enough away that Rathma won't hit him, but close enough that he'll attack you, and the bolts will bounce off you and hit/damage Rathma. Meanwhile, purify Rathma whenever you can. All while dodging constantly. Move Mendeln around by just blinking on him (hardest at the start of the fight). Make sure Mendeln takes some damage from Rathma as the fight goes on. Once Rathma is low, bring Mendeln closer, let him get killed, then finish Rathma with purify. It's a tedious, taxing fight.

Do bosses still have pierce in Sigma? Do I need to overcap specific resistances for some fights? ie. fire/poison for Kabraxis?

I

I dont know about the most recent median xl 2017 versions since I had stopped updating for some months and only got sigma recently. But I dont remember any change in sigma that is removing bosses' pierce. That being said, some bosses did get that nerf i.e Tal rasha, Assur, Quov'tsin, Jitan,... long before sigma comes out. Those are the ones I know and perharps are all the bosses who have 'resistance pierce' in the pass?

About Kabraxis specifically, I dont think he has any spell that deals fire dmg. His dmg comes from balefire (magical dmg) and purnisher (poison dmg). Basically its impossible for u to have enough magic resistance and purnisher still kill u even if u have max psn resist. U should just forget about resistance in this fight and try to dodge/keep distance with him.

Wait, I thought that elemental runes would activate Gematria, but just provide a lesser effect? 70% of what a Great Rune would give you, or so the tooltip says. Did I misunderstand something?

Also, what's a good tactic for a crossbow Necro to fight Buyard Cholik? Level 117 at the moment, with admittedly somewhat sub-par gear.

just kill all of his minions (easy for xbow nec), run in the circle then use summon to keep him there.

U need Great Runes for Gematria, not the Elemental ones.

You can use both Elemental Runes and Great Runes. Elemental Runes only give 70% of the effects though.
