Does Soul of Envy despawn for any reason? Like if you kill all his servants?

Couldn't take him head-on so I let him blink around and killed his servants. Multiple times now.
Figured maybe he blinked way way away, so I cleared his entire area and all souls, popped on a 70 yard Fortress to help seek him out, and nothing. He's just gone.

Oook, thanks for replies, another problem, with d2se this time:
1.When i open the gamy thru d2se, windowed mode, i don't have minimalisation, maksymalization and close buttons on the window, so it leaves mi with crap small one.
2.Anyways, klicking "run with plugy" and than "run plugin" does nothing, "start D2" runs game without plugy.
Btw i use win 10
Ok EDIT:
When running with win xp service pack 3 it finally works with plugy, but clicking "run d2" still opens that window without buttons. Anyways, i can open normal median ( no plugy ) thru d2 shortcut anyways.

My question: Do attacks need to hit to proc on melee attack proc? I mean, just the swing animation is needed, or we have to get enough AR as well?
