Try to get items with Magic resits (spirit walker for example). You will not die from barrels in this kase.

Magic resists only helful vs. Witch, JDay, Laz ubers and some else. Barrels do 50k magic and 50k physical dmg, so it's almost always 1-shot. However, good amount of %avoid can't help, but you never know when you dodge barrels or not (it's random).

Is there any other way of releasing Batstike Charges other than a normal attack? (Like Clod's telekicks and other fun things) Just feels so wrong to be having a standard attack hotkeyed

Bloodbath and regular attack that's it (and kicks but they do not exist in mxl). Diablo 2 programming logic...

But seriously melee necro is easy in duncraig. Learn the distance of barrel explosions and use angel of death to jump a bit further out of them. No crazy micro skills needed, just calm head and some practise.

With some practice and the right movement dodging barrel is pretty ez for all classes
But yeah blinking and getting cornered is a problem. Since he already has an Amazon he might as well try Pouncezon, pounce after blink = safe

well in single player you can't, unless mp changes that, i play sp only
