S24: Speedrun Event

Welcome to the first official speedrunning event in Median XL!
Players from around the world will compete for different challenges to see who truly is the fastest of all.

EVENT END: 5.09.2020 (UTC)

Event Rules

- The challenges must be played online and with ladder characters.

Cornerstone of the World

is not alllowed.
- All submissions are required to use /time on the spawnpoint (then you can move) (pre-buffing allowed) (*)
- After killing boss, use /time again and open 'character' tab to show character name (*)
- Games must be fresh and no other character can join the game, all runs need to be executed solo and in same game
- Submissions must be a link to a youtube video or twitch highlight so they are easy to view for all players
- Only one submission per day
(*) The time difference between both /time commands is what determines the speedrun.
When you use it for the second time, press up arrow to output last message so you don't have to type it.

Any attempt to circumvent or manipulate the rules will disqualify the player and may lead to account suspension.

Rankings
- Only the best score for each class is counted in the top3. This is to encourage class diversity.
- The same applies to players. If one player gets #1 and #2 times, he will only contest #1, even when using different classes. Except for normal speedrun.

Yes you can keep improving your score.

Please use /time at the start of the run as well.
And use it again (can do enter -> up -> ctrl) as soon as boss killed. The difference between both timestamps is what determines the run.

So basically the normal speedrun is a1- baal but the others are boss runs? Interesting.

I'm not sure what the dudes name was this ladder reset but there was a guy that hit level 90 while everyone else was 60. He was solo too. My jaw dropped seeing that as I switched difficulties.

Exactly. As you can notice, all chosen entries are based mostly on execution & strategy and not by ultra-expensive gear which would be boring to watch and compete against. Clearly several specs have advantages in some quests but the diversity rule should help out.
