Patch Notes wrote:PHOENIX WAVE: spell - casts a wide flame wave in front of you
Now spawns on Amazon Shields instead of Necromancer Wands
Affix skill levels increased to (16-24), up from (9-22)
Greatly reduced next delay, increased damage by 70%
I think something was messed up or this is just phrased really weirdly.
Testing in Single Player before making big investment on TSW to be let down like most other oskills..
There appears to be two different skill IDs for Phoenix Wave, one presumably for the older version, and one for the newer version. Both of these screenshots depict a character with capped 100% synergy factor and 400% fire spell damage. First photo is the newer updated skill which seems to hit many more times, as stated by the greatly reduced next delay, confirmed by a quick craft on a staff on TSW as well with similar stats:

This second version is what I would assume to be the old skill ID, which shows drastically more damage, but less amount of hits:

Now, I'm not a mathematical genius, but I'm pretty sure 10-17k going down to 5-7k is not a 70% damage increase? The number of hits from the reduced ND looks accurate, but the damage looks like it took a major hit. Referring back to what I mentioned up above, maybe the patch notes were phrased really weirdly and it "should feel like it does 70% more damage because it hits more often" or was it actually buffed 70% dmg? Unless I'm understanding it all wrong, which if so, please correct me, this skill is still massively inferior and would probably be
tolerable if it did 10-17k with the new ND value, but even then less than many other skills to simply pass this one over.
