What anime do you watch?

I will watch your spoiler trailer right after i watch season 2 first episode. Season 1 was ok. If you start watching, make sure you watch 2 OVA episodes before it.

Looking at this trailer gave me mixed feelings about watching the live action movie. I'm still gonna watch it though.

well, I guess I shouldn't have expect much from a shounen anime, I knew it was going to be bad from the trailer, but what can you do when there's not much to watch, so you sometimes gotta take the risk in hopes of finding something decent or actually good. there's just so many throw-away and just plain stupid anime that I lost count. i'm kinda sad that I already watched most of the few good anime that are out there.

I know where youre coming from. Having read the manga before watching the anime made me raise an eyebrow at how rushed they decided to start it.
In the anime most if not all characters are cliché'd and have little to no significance to however is new to the story. It tries to create tension by all the killings and stress out all the japanese nationalism but i found it sub-par to other animes ive watched including other shounen. It goes into a somewhat lengthy infodumping process that takes up good chunk of the eps, personally i thought that these dulled the momentum but i understand that they are there for however doesnt know the backstory.

Also , to anyone interested, just watch the anime for the shounen action because the plot is pretty much standard. And dont try too hard to introspect on deeper connotations of the anime because there isnt any. Put short , the roles of both species are reversed. We use to kill roaches just because, they kill humans....just because.

Also , GG on calling your German character "Adolf". I cant even.

All and all i would give the anime a 4/10. It fell just short of being average because of those reasons. Its not that i didnt enjoy it but i found a lot of the stuff there rushed and contradicting some of the stuff in the manga pretty much. It felt like a somewhat decent Gantz knockoff and believe me when i say that i found Gantz's ending to be really fucking terrible enough to hate it. For me it felt a little bit smarter than "people die when they are killed", but a little bit dumber than "fun things are fun".

Obvious connection to a certain Charlie Chaplin impersonator, no one in germany would name their kids "Adolf" because of the Nazi connotation. It seems the author relates Nazism to Germany just as Communism to Russia.

Best tips for people that kinda hate cliche story is to read summary / review / scoring first before spending time to watch the series.
I admit that not all anime are great (I have many in scoring of 7 which is average territory for me), so try to find something that confirmed great anime to watch (beware of overhyped stuff, especially when it still airing)
Trying different variety of anime also help.

Nothing more regret than watching bad anime after I spent bandwidth to download it lol.
Usually I will just do something else while watching so you can still get great plot of story while ignoring couple of minor parts.

I already heard couple of bad stuff about terraformars and was waiting for uncensored version.
Judging after seeing not many people still talking about it (unlike SAO), I will assume it will disappoint me with cliffhanger plot.

Started watching a much belated sitting of Shakugan no Shana S2.
