Yes they are decent, but when crafting a weapon do you want to just go with decent or would you rather shoot for the better option? If you already have the xbow you might as well use it, but unless there's a specific reason for it, people generally aren't going to spend their resources crafting something that they consider to be inferior to another option that takes the same amount of effort to create. And per your original question, the reason most people view xbows as inferior is because of the quiver options for bows.

actually, i just looked into the speed, and i see min frames for xbow is 11 fpa, and for bow its 8 fpa (for barb, for din its all the same)
i wanted to try just tantrum, without the procs in some kind of build that uses satans dark delight - its basically a fortress barb and when the proc comes - i switch to tantrum and spam like crazy.. sort of near town/wp farming build

aknazer wrote:Well the unique arrow quivers look better than the unique bolt quivers. Hanabigami is pretty good for a TU while the SU has Bag of Tricks, which iirc can proc off of its own procs. I don't know what Arrowside does, but I wouldn't be surprised if it too was a decent SU quiver. Then you compare those three to the bolt quivers and it's just kinda...meh to use an xbow.

Was wondering earlier today what skills could proc other skills (e.g. on attack, strike, casting, etc..)

Maybe the unique bias makes MF less effective somehow or something. At first glance, Tran seems like a decent choice because of the unique bias (and sacred item type not mattering on jewelry), and a unique bias might help find stuff I need that isn't jewelry as well. Been clearing Fauztinville several times a day for weeks now, trying to find some kind of logic that allows me to go somewhere else for a while without being wasteful.

fauz just drops more jewelry as a base, plus yeah, it is more dense and larger. if you want to get jewelry, it's probably best to farm fauz with a good %MF.

Murreh wrote:Also, believe I read somewhere that the damage rollover problem was fixed by changing it to a longer signed integer, that still hold true? I remember one of my sorcs doing 1.8m damage with flamestrike and instantly ashing everything, but if it's based on angelfire and hits 25 times 1.8m total wouldn't have caused a rollover anyway. Knowing for sure can make a big difference in gear/skill choices... if you go hard, 83k per instance isn't impossible to reach

Flamestrike is not based on angelfire. It has 4 frame next delay.

Is there a way to get a specific sacred tier weapon (for RW), or is farming it the only option?

I dunno if this work, but you can get some sacred set piece by using one of special box recipe from terror griswold.

Then remove the property by using cata of destruction and rune to remove the set property.
This assumed if item from box can be transmuted.

If not, then have to farm manually.

Finally did enough runs between periods of "employment interference" to get a general idea from 7 stash pages of sacred unique drops (and all the jewelry drops, sacred-tier or not). TA was definitely giving SU drops far more often than Fauz, by several times more per arbitrary time period, and the opposite was true with jewelry. About 7-8 SUs per piece of jewelry in TA and 5-6 unique pieces of jewelry per SU in Fauz seemed to be my average. Apparently the bias towards uniques doesn't mean a whole lot for jewelry for whatever reason (maybe it's just *that* uncommon normally compared to all the other drop options).

Also, 9 Cornerstones so far instead of any of the less-rare stuff I actually want :|
