I'd recommend trying different settings out, and using the test mode that is included in the configure tool.
A question of my own about glide...
I configured this yesterday, but Diablo II seems to need to run some sort of initialization every time the game is opened (or minimized). There is a sequence of characters that runs through in the upper left corner of the screen. For other video modes, this only happens the very first time it is used, but with glide it is happening every time I re-open the game.
I found some references to this online, but the only solution I found was to disable "desktop composition" on Windows 7. Unfortunately I am running Windows 10, and that does not seem to be an option anywhere. It is a relatively minor inconvenience, but I am hoping someone else might have experience with this and know of a solution. (I know windowed mode will prevent this, but I would prefer to keep full screen.)
