Huh. After a number of mystic orbs that all ended up not lowering the timer I stopped, 9 completely wasted mystic orbs. I got it to level 30 by the way.

get moar wyrd/all skill then it should reach 0.2s timer (the minimum)

Summons can not be immune. Max +minion resistance is capped at 75% on destruction difficulty.

Except bats because:
LFAQ in Docs wrote: Minions cannot become elementally immune from the '+%minion resists' item modifier. They can become immune with the addition of auras/buffs/etc.
* Note: Assassin's Bat(strike) Familiars are the exception to this rule. They can become elementally immune from +% 'minion resist' gear only; even on Destruction difficulty. It's a unique feature of theirs.


UPD: Ye... since version MXL 2012 v003 their resist capped at 75% like for all summons.. Btw found in version log that they have slow and chance of AoE attack :P

Thanks for the answers. It's a shame their immunity were throwned out the window.

I wouldn't say batstrike is totally weak, but that's mainly because of the charm effect imho. Sure, bats can reach 50k health and 60% avoid. That won't prevent them from being obliterated in most uberquest, even some "easy" ones. (I say "easy" because back in my days, doing Azmodan or Rathmas square was a mighty feat ! I remember gamma cheesing Azmodan...)

Eh. I am just a bit frustrated that playing such a highly involved and risky char like a bat assassin just leads to ok-ish results. And assassin is definitely not the character to get your first charms. I believe assassin suffers from a very acute case of endgame syndrom: "Yeah ! This skill is going to be awesome... at max lvl with full charms and full gear ! Until then, enjoy 0 defense with 20% dodge and 5% block chance TCHOO TCHOO !"

I'd personally suggest crafting with a Ber rune, if you have the arcane shards to spare. Only requires 250 crafting points, can get that without any charms if you pick up a few rares with it or MO some cheap trinkets with tons of it. Life leech takes a pretty hard nerf in Median Destruction, but it's still quite useful when you have 1-2% in *every* socket. Even imperfect, half-assed rolls can make some beauties

ooh those nice rolls, that will take awhile for me to get those. thanks for the tip. ima try to roll that later after reinstalling my D2 since i got that unhandled exception access violation C00005 again before going to terror act 3.

But it's doable, if you want the challenge. For me, my first character was an assassin and I've stuck with it all the way through every uber. Only ubers I did first on another character were Kabraxis and Bremmtown (to get a feel for them and Chronofield is OP on Kabraxis for learning). Even without charms, tolerable defense, much higher block, much higher dodge is possible with tolerable damage... you just have to be willing to actually follow the gear upgrading path and not expect to jump from t5rares/t6U to SSSUs loaded with Inarius'. Have to actually farm for some gear and keep rolling crafts until you get the %dex you need and such.

All the ones in my gear ARE 2%, those are just leftovers I had in the stash. They were examples of imperfect "tolerable, for now" rolls because I was too lazy to buy a Disjunction for a quick prntscrn Paintjob. I tried using

at one point with the leech gems just for the sake of seeing what having 70-80% leech was like, but the loss in damage over my Penumbra wasn't worth it (not needing the extra survivability).

and decent crafts with mostly damage rolls, and you can totally ignore your Hit Recovery and Block speed because you never stop attacking and it's 100% uninterruptable (while still allowing you to block and avoid just fine). Being uninterruptable with a full set of leech jewels will keep you alive just fine, though it's a pretty terrible idea against most heroic bosses
