Still messing with Rimworld at work when i get a chance. New discovery - animal breeding. When you get a chance buy 3-4 dogs/cows from traveling caravans or space ships. Dogs learn basic stuff plus when they get a bit older and bigger - learn haul items and resque injured. Really usefull stuff, my inhabitants save time and work at home while dogs gather stuff around the map. Another advantage is breeding - dogs give birth to puppies like mad. You can get an army of dogs very fast then train/sell them. Use the info tab about animals to learn their average age and sell old animals for money. Cows - same thing, but they breed slower, can't haul stuff, give free milk. Other animals are not so usefull - mainly for their fur, but you can get cloth from plants.
Also found out about brewing. Make sure you have hops growing areas and brewery bench. Make growing area 9x9 (because sun light covers that perfectly) and one brewery bench for it (i have 2x2, works best this ratio). And make beer ! It sells for over 4 coins a piece. Bulk ships offer only 2, so fuck them. Also don't forget to put X mark on beer or else your colonist will drink it
