it's kind of BS to assume that people leave the game cause they can buy charm easily, if you're in the shoes of those average players you will see things very differently. I myself don't like grinding for charms since it usually requires specific build/setup. This ladder I bought several charms for a total of 700 sigs, yes, signets. At that time I can't farm for sk1 even if I want to due to the nature of my builds. Not everyone can do or want to do Void/MnX, I'd rather run nih 350 times than do them, it's still grinding, just in a different way. And if you choose to use TG, that's good!! It means you supports the mod with real money so Marco can actually realase that damn Sigma mod.

The mentality of those who willing to pay for Void charm is simple: OP Teleport skill will make doing most ubers easier than ever (Duncraig, Kabraxis, Unformed Land,...). And they will stick to a lazy ass style for the rest of ladder

My suggestion is to make The Void an actual "impossible" dungeon as it means to be. At this point the reward could give you OP shit stats (like Teleport atm) but wouldn't make any huge impact on playstyle, since you almost finished the game content. Sorry for bad English.

edit: Or you could, simply, nerf the charm.

so people who buy charms instead of farming them are lazy? In most instances if someone farms for items to trade for a charm, it takes them longer to farm those items than it does the player farming the charm.

No i mention Void charm specifically. Anyone having certain experience in this mod know how great having 3sec teleport will affect your gameplay.

Apparently there were plans to have guilds and guild halls in vanilla diablo 2. If we could somehow do that it'd be amazing

Coming back to Blessed Oil of Luck, I think I've figured out why it bothers me when farming for other crafting items doesn't. Ingredients in other recipes for the most part have many sources, and each farming spot has other things going for it besides that specific ingredient. If you need jewels or shrines or arcane crystals there are several places to get each that are also decent farming spots for SUs, sets, GRs and base Sacred items. If I'm not finding what I'm after, I have the side-objective of other loot keeping me satisfied and playing. With Blessed Oil if you don't find one, it just feels like wasted time because there's nothing good at all about farming terror Tristram. Even the grind to 121 was kept interesting by the occasional drop. Another thing these other ingredients do not share with Blessed Oils is that not only can they be found in certain hotspots, they also have a chance to drop throughout the game; you can prepare for crafting while helping someone out or while questing on your own or while searching for loot and not notice a grind at all. I propose Blessed Oils:

-have a low chance to drop throughout the game, similar to Signets of Learning
-have a chance to drop through Special Box from Griswold in Destruction difficulty so he isn't more challenging and far less rewarding to farm than his Terror counterpart
-have a drop bias in an underused uber or two, such as Khalimgrad or Bremmtown, to help breathe some life into those places

Let me know what you think.

100% agreed, it should drop in destruction so it's not a complete waste of time

With Khalimgrad you could make them a 1/3 drop from each of the big angel dudes (can't remember their name lmao) instead of just a flat out drop bias.

Alternatively you could give the entire area a 'misc bias' -- signets and blessed oils and whatever other weird flotsam and jetsam that isn't easily farmable/fun to farm. That's probably a worse idea, though.

buff timers would be a nice quality of life thing. As soon as you put a point into stormlord your guy permanently turns into the sun so it's impossible to tell when your vessel etc expires; even with the ones that you can easily tell when they expire (ie superbeast) it'd still be nice to not get caught off-guard because your buffs fell off right as you blinked into a large group of enemies. There's plenty of space to either side of the mini-panel on the hud to have spots where you could have the ability icon with either an exact countdown timer or a general thing of having a percent of the icon be grayed out corresponding to how far into the timer you are (when you first cast the buff, the icon shows up fully illuminated. Assuming the buff lasts 5 minutes, 60 seconds later the top 20% of the icon is now grayed out)
