I read it wrong. I thought you mean effigy drops... But Necro summoned effigy surely get your MF. Sorry for misinformation.

Just coming back after a few years and seeing that the guide section is a bit out of date, just looking for some basic build advice. Is totemancer still a strong Scosglen farmer? Any other builds outperform it in that respect? Playing singleplayer so preferably looking for something that doesn't require GG gear/ SSSUs. Thanks

Yea its fine, although other builds are likely better in ssf/shit gear.

some ssf viable builds:
amazon: spear
druid: bear (fire), avalanche/banshee
necro: totem, phys xbow, melee (pain to farm rw wep tho)
sin: mael/stormcrow
sorc: melee
barb: throw (focus on set axe early until you get 2x qor from fauzt)
pally: unholy caster (a bit squish early)

I think most people play on ladder, although this season has been going since May and isn't very busy any more, but there are still some people playing =)

! With my IRL responsibilities, I'm lucky to put in a couple of hours per week. I've noticed roughly 75%+ of the community is laser focused on new content, playing one class, destroying all content, then quitting. The remaining 25% are casual gamers like myself or just love the game in general and attempt multiple classes per ladder. I'd be happy if ladder resets occurred once every six-months or even once a year, but I am in the minority and I know it.

6 months to a year. It's dead after 2 months. There would be no one playing this mod if that happend. Honestly if that's for you your better off playing single player or nonladder.

That is the consensus, however believe it or not, there are still always people playing when I log in, at least 10-15 visible games at all times. When I log in, the people currently playing are trying out different builds. And we're what, over four months into this season? Besides that, I do enjoy playing with other people, which is why I play online, and almost nobody plays non-ladder. I think I'm fine where I am, thank-you, and I still see enough interest this late to make me think ladder seasons could be expanded, however as I also said, I know I'm the minority. I don't mind being unable to complete all content before a season ends due to lack of time, though you sound like a bit of a perfectionist to me.
