Not on TSW lol, in SP. If I was on TSW I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Spell damage boosts improve passive elemental damage on direct melee attacks. Minions also usually get your spell damage boosts right? Would a spell damage boost improve the poison damage of my hoplites? If so would my boost from solar flare/incarnation improve it as long as they live or just for the 5 seconds?

unless they are under the influence of an aoe damage boost spell (as Bloodlust /Gift of the wild) , no . your elemental damage boost from gear does not boost the minion spell damage , just yourse . also , hoplites do not benefit from incarnation , just from plague ; incarnation is only boosting fire/cold/magical/physical spells , poison is not included

for those hoplites to work fine it is required the usage of either colosseum or divine aparition to jump on top of a target ; you teleport your hoplites with you so they may focus their attacks on your opponent .

Is Damage Reduction % / DR still capped at 50%?

50% only from one source; with more than one source , you can go higher (it has always been like that)

check this link to find out how that works : viewtopic.php?f=5&t=124&p=57066&hilit=damage+reduction+cap#p57066 . look on pages 543, 544 and 545 of this thread

% DR first, then flat DR, right?

So 1000 physical damage incoming -> 50% DR = 500 then 300 flat DR = 200 total damage? (if you did it the other way around, it would be 350 total incoming damage)

Still trying to make my Flamestrike / RoL paladin work.

you are right. also , for a holy paladin it would be : colosseum (-25% enemy damage) -> 50% damage reduction -> flat damage reduction .

so for your 1000 incoming damage , you reduce your enemies damage by 25% with colosseum , you reduce the remaining 750 incoming damage by 50% , then you reduce the 375 (50% of 750 )damage with your flat damage reduction . if in your case that is 300 flat damage reduction , then you get 75 damage

Aura or item stat don't make a difference, because they both give the same stat. All this stuff about aura being applied first is nonsense.

not from what i've played and tested . the best way to test this is with an amazon that has 50% DR from gear and Spellblind . the damage you get with just using the gear is higher than with spellblind (stoned enemies) . or a necro with 50% dr from gear + the void archon warp aura field
