Spellbind is a different thing completely, because it affects the monster. Otherwise, talking about player stats, there is no difference between the dr% on gear and the dr% you get from that aura, just like I wrote above.

All damage reduction aplied multiplicative but damage reduction in % can't go over 50%. And flat damage reduction (1-XXX damage reduced) applies always first before percentage. Otherwise it could give you phys immune. So the order is:
debuff on enemies
flat dmg reduction
% damage reduction

Oh, that kinda sucks. Was hoping it would be the other way around. Warrior's Robe less valuable now IMO.

unless they are under the influence of an aoe damage boost spell (as Bloodlust /Gift of the wild) , no . your elemental damage boost from gear does not boost the minion spell damage , just yourse . also , hoplites do not benefit from incarnation , just from plague ; incarnation is only boosting fire/cold/magical/physical spells , poison is not included

for those hoplites to work fine it is required the usage of either colosseum or divine aparition to jump on top of a target ; you teleport your hoplites with you so they may focus their attacks on your opponent .

Thank you for clearing that up.

Does +% spell damage work on passive elemental damage sources such as Dragonfire Oil and Force of Nature? (I presume no since it isn't really a spell)

To my knowledge, no. Pierce will work, obviously, but I think because they aren't active damage spells, it won't boost. I could be wrong.

No. Basically.
It's... complicated.

'%Spell Damage' should really be called '%Elemental damage', since it applies to all damage you do with that element, whether it's a spell or an attack. But as it turns out, missiles that carry Weapon Damage (so any projectiles created by a WDM skill, like Shower of Rocks' rocks, or the bolts fired by Fairy Ring) cannot carry information about how much '%Elemental damage' you have. That means it effectively just applies to spells... except that it also works for direct melee hits you make when swinging a weapon :D That means if you're a druid with a lot of %spell damage and you use Pummel on Diablo, the elemental damage applied by Pummel itself to Diablo and monsters around him won't be effected, but big D himself will take more damage when your woodfist punches him in the dick. :bounce:

So, Dragonfire Oil + Parasite. The WDM missiles it releases only carry the 'base' amount of fire damage, but the monster I hit gets the Dragonfire Oil damage * my elemental spell damage modifier?

Basically I should stack -enemy fire resist to make Dragonfire Oil more useful?
