Nope. First of all - dragonfire oil is ranged attack, not melee. And second is im not sure but dragonfire oil don't hit any monster directly. It just explodes in nova that deal damage (like Pounce for example, Wyrd or Harbinger)

Dragonfire oil just adds fire damage to your basic attack. I'm not sure what you think it is

I think you mean Buckshot , not Dragonfire Oil. Dragonfire Oil is a passive skill.

Does +% spell damage work on passive elemental damage sources such as Dragonfire Oil and Force of Nature? (I presume no since it isn't really a spell)

Try it in the skill calc. Change the spell damage a few time to check.
