Heh. Absorb works after you take damage so for example you have 50% fire resist and 50% fire absorb. You got hit by spell dealing 1000 fire damage. First of all counts resist- 1000/2 = 500. Then you will take that 500 damage and only after this you will absorb 50% of damage taken = 500/2 = 250. Means you'll get 500 damage and 250 hp regained.

Yup and %absorb is capped to 40% maximum I believe. So my previous example should be corrected.

Not dedicating to making the same thread again. More accurate information is made by SB in the docs, and eventually some additional ones made by me when the docs are updated again.
