Anonymous: wrote:Suggestion - removing item reroll with oils partly or at all. Why ? Because this feature makes early/mid game too easy. You can roll good weapon, rings, amulets with gg stats in cube with oils or with dragons. While using clicker it's easy and fast and requires skill in setuping clicker only rather than game play and knowledge. Plus it greatly reduces item worth considering drops. You found random base, upgrade/downgrade, reroll in cube.... Where is effort and fun in that ? Suggestions towards it:
1. Old school style, no rerolling, you get what monsters drop. Deal with it.
2. Oils replaced with craft materials that only specific area/mob/boss drop. Materials are once per use and you only change quality of item (white into blue, into golden), no item rerolling.
3. Current rerolls but with downside like each roll decreases number of sockets or ilvl or stats or something like that.
Don't get me wrong, i like to have nice items with good stats on them. But geting items in cube in town is worse than going outside and smashing something.

Well, for rings and amu you can gamble them. And that's probably the most efficient way of getting a good rare in that case. Where's the fun in that? If you need an oskill on a rare you can gamble that item over and over as tiered item and hope for it to be rare. Is gambling better than rerolling? Or should gambling be removed as well? Or should items be really expensive to gamble? How to deal with that? Is farming for specific rare items a lot of fun? Just asking hypothetically, I think the reroll feature is good.

I like this. Perhaps make "upgrade reagents" have varying rarity depending on quality? I.e. normal->magic upgrades are relatively common, magic->rare more scarce, and rare->unique only drop once in a blue moon.
Removal or complication of uptier recipes (or at least unique uptier) also would make item hunting less trivial.

I don't care that much about rerolling except that I think it should still be possible in one form or another. What matters most, IMHO, is a compelling and rewarding crafting system.

By rewarding I mean less randomness such that crafting is not a complete gamble. Maybe reagents could have smaller but more deterministic effects.

Here's an idea — not too stupid I hope — make crafting reagents stackable onto crafted items, up to a point. Kinda like mystic orbs but with differing amounts of reagent slots instead of the fixed 15. The number of slots could be random but based on tings like item type, tier etc.

I know crafting enhancements are planned, just wanted to give my two cents

Make NPC have flavor. Especially for gambling. I mean there should be a gambling bias in areas for example :
Act 1 Sorceress because tristram and rogue monastery/Barbarian for no reason lol
Act 2 Amazon because of the port town/Necromancer because of the tombs in the desert (i have read The Sin War and necromancer weapons are made with the guidance of the protector of Sanctuary and from the bones of inhabitants but w/e)
Act 3 Paladin because this is the seat of power of Zakarum religion/Druid because of the jungle
Act 4 Assassin bias because they are evil hunters
Act 5 class specific items and improved chance of higher tier gambling

I would love it if NPC's were useful for opening ubers and stuff like that. I still remember playing Diablo 2 and reading all the dialogues around. I have fond memories of Ormus,Hratli and the drunkard in Act2

Also I am interested in item automods. For example make bows or throwing items have an automod too at least of the kind "Cast XXX skill when thrown" for some low level fun. Speaking of automods Mega Impact<Thunderfury<Area of Effect attack so I hope some more work goes there :flip:

If it's possible to make items poof when you leave a game you could potentially make some novel mechanics with them, such as items that only drop in hatred/terror and can only be used there.
