On kill requires WDM or Poison, and usually procs from the location of the monsters death (see tempest from sky spirit or crucify from Sur RW scythe), depending on what the skill proc is.
On slain is open to anything as long as the monster dies, and procs from the players location - I.e. The trinity nova from creep staff or singularity from secret gnarled staff.

Started leveling my amazon with this build, just to try something different. Looks interesting and fun, but I feel like I will hit a brickwall at around terror. Another build that relies on outsourcing skills to be viable, which is a terrible design for me. The 12 and 24 skills require rework imo.

An essential "feature". If all kills triggered procs then procs would be severely op and have to be drastically curtailed. You can't have it both ways.

If spells would proc Spells, they could start an endless proc-chain, which is impossible to balance. At least balancing would be harder that way.

Procs are fine as they are.

On kill = WDM/Poison
On Slain = any
On attack/melee attack = the visual animation of attacking
On striking = any WDM attack that hits anything
When struck = When struck by WDM attack
When you take damage = any type of damage hits you
If you need an explanation for "when you're killed" procs, then god help your soul.

Don't forget, procs can proc other procs. If all spells could activate on kill procs, this game would be absurd. I think the current way is likely the most balanced as it can get.

Edit: not to mention WDM procs still factor your gear, along with spell-based procs scale with all buffs/auras/spell damage/energy factor, etc.

So, I've had experience with Median before with a totemmancer, having pushed through a few destruction ubers. I read that it's not for absolute beginners, however having never played the Stormcaller build before. Is it something worth investing my time into without having any other characters on the new season at level 120?

yes, i had no problems playing this build, especially after the buff of her 1 handed cast rate its a very good build, even to start with
