are mercs from nm/hell weaker than from normal? you keep playing with level 10 skills?

My skills are 10/5/1 at the moment. I am grinding act 1 for xp/gold because act 2 way point activation potion is lvl 69 and i am 65. Still using same merc from normal act 2. Not gonna change him, he is my personal miasma caster. I am doing jail runs for bookcases - very easy to get tomes, probably same as act 5 nithlakh chest.
Also nothing drops sets anymore, nothing really drops nice stuff anymore. Sad.

Btw, tested that non alt-tabbing thing, crashes have nothing to do with it. Its just rng.

Cave under NM tristram has all glyphs for normaly cursed items.
Tried new helmet with bone spear oskill - sucks ass, damge is below 100.
Found new axe, crafted sockets for it (3 x silver ore + 3 x 3sockets + item = item with 3 sockets), gives nice things, only thing missing is IAS.
Last charm has the worse possible roll (10-15% all 3 stats).

Stuck at Duriel. He is the hardest part in game for me in both difficulties. In NM he is immune to physical and poison. Might end up rushing barb to NM and opening hosting game for paladin just to beat this boss.

Looks like I OVERLEVELED my barb, so cannot use this amazing black pencil thing properly. Unassigned all my stats to lower my CAP, and I was able to get level 11 frenzy, but when I crafted WW, it rolled as 16...
