I just googled it and according to some guy in a forum (I'm not allowed to post the link here) it's approx. 8-16 kb per second

Unlimited cap is the way to go nowadays, I had one prepaid with 3gbit cap long time ago and it wasn't enough even for regular surfing and occassional downloading. And obviously you should choose 4G if you are in the area where that is effective.
