What does the oskill hive do?

It releases poison as enemies get near, and I believe it also takes 25% of base str and gives it to Vit. Someone correct me on that if I'm mistaken.

I'm new and intend to start an amazon build (totemzon) with fairy ring as main skill. So i have some questions:
1/ Is this skill benefit from LaeK, TTAD, spell damge, energy factor, on striking/ on attack/ when monster is slain proc
2/ Do I need to smax this skill ?
3/ High defence (sMax balance) or 0 defense (smax estactic frenzy), which one is better ?
4/ Need item with sacrifice oskill (to do non-corpse uber quest). Any sugesstion ?

Fairy ring is best used with ricochet javazon to start proc chains, get corpses, then just spam fairy ring as you go.

What's the correct way of equipping items with huge stat requirements? I feel like there's got to be a better method than socketing -10% req jewels and I need both STR and DEX items.

If youre paladin , maxing Stormlord will cover all gear requirements. Otherwise get charms with +attributes.
