Well yeah, but there's no reason to mark all the trees on the map. Maybe a few that are important because they block the players' line of sight, but all of them seems a bit much.
It'd be more useful to just grey out all the parts that you can't walk on. I know if I was in there and tasked to make a map that's what I'd do.

Well, not a big deal either way.

Edit: Or just add dots to the walk-able parts and leave the rest blank, like in here.

You are talking like I marked the trees manually :P It's not a selective process, it's automated. The trees are there, and it's the automap's responsibility to display them. Automaps also serve an aesthetic purpose, see chaos sanctuary for example, so it's not necessarily all about the functionality. Trees in tran automap actually look really nice, although the way I presented it might look too much. Also it doesn't help that laz used wrong tiles for all corners, so there are lots of whitespaces inbetween walls, and that is actually what is hurting the "readability".

IIRC I remember that laz said if you take particular from different act, the automap doesnt work properly 100%. correct?

(fauzt, TA, forgot if there was any other, maybe ureh?)

So hows the magic it work?

i know every one will say i am lazy but a have to ask there some way for you make the automap stay active even when you die and when you enter a game he shows up automatic , like make the normal state of the map is on and not off (sorry my english)

Sound like normal strategy game with fog of war features.
Automap all faded, but became clearer when player explored the specific area.

Not sure if d2 engine can handle that (they only have "fade automap in middle")
Maybe whist did coded it in already

no no i don't mean reveled, i mean active like press "Tab" to show , like when you die he vanish so you need press "tab" again to show the map and so the Minimenu on the center!

No, you need to figure each tile's main index, sub index and orientation, and then add automap entries for each group of tiles (like walls, doors, columns, edges, trees, entrances, etc.) and assign them a set of images to display. It doesn't require hardcoding, but it's not an easy thing to do. It's in my plans fixing all automaps though.

There's also a new feature implemented. As I mentioned before, (almost) all uberquest locations will be moved to appropiate new places. It's obvious most ubers do not fit their location (if not, explain how a spider cave takes you to K3KBA), do not fit lore (i.e. belial and azmodan should be in act 4). However there are some that do fit in specific locations (such as astrogha inside a cave in spider forest). Adding end-game uberquests to the main storyline can be obstrusive though. The new feature consists of adding a level requirement to certain locations to prevent people from making the mistake of entering them.

So if you want to enter the proving grounds before level 70, nope.

This feature doesn't focus on preventing users to do ubers underleveled, but rather adding another layer of security before accessing an uber from the main storyline. Players will still be able to enter any level from a portal at any time if they desire (this includes cow level of course). It is also worth noting that ubers will be accessed in many more ways in sigma, this includes things like wearable items, oskills, tomes, scrolls, cube recipes or killing a monster. Also many uberquests will be accessed from other uberquests (like twin seas does).

Anyways I could go on all day about the changes but I guess it's kind of obvious I'm working on areas. That's what you can expect for screens for the time being :P


@Professor-Zoom: just get used to pressing tab more often. Press it every half second and people will think you're a pro.
