Can you elaborate on drop rate changes? Will it be similar to current (rather low) ones?
I think it is pretty good if people don't find most of the gear in first 3 days. But I guess not everyone shares that opinion :)

Atm the drops in uber areas are like they should be for MP = low

Problem with current Ladder drop was that bosses like terul, kabraxis, athulua wich are easy to farm and take very short ammount of time still had rather OP SU droprate so ppl switched for the most part from ubers to boss farming.

If the drop tweak wich Marco announced will feature boss drop nerf this could actually be a good Ladder imo.

Anyway, what about runes and shrines?
I mean, if su and sets are relatively hard to come by, don't people also switch to runes that rain, elemental runes and even crafts. I think it is all connected, if you get for example in average 1 su from TA run. But at the same time you can farm terror fauztinville for insane amount of shrine and craft whatever you want. it doesn't seem very balanced.
Sure there always will be the best way to gear up and people find it, but nerfing one "source" of gear and leaving other ones untouched make it a really easy choice.
In the end as you said, if people already get decent characters through crafts/runes then they can farm bosses as best source of su.

Biggest Mxl problem imo since ages is u have access to all kind of items very fast. Runes, AC, shrines etc. wich makes it very easy to progress and kill stuff while lvling in no time. Even for late game there is nothing much wich u need to grind for to get ur stuff rdy for ubers.

Look at the uniq act boss rain for example, from a3 norm Meph drops 2 uniqs or 3 dont remember and after u farm it few times u are able to create tier5-6 stuff in no time and just steamroll everything in your way to dest.

Theres a bunch of things wich should be cahnged to make the MP play more attractive and especially norm and nm more challenging and fun but its what it is.

Anyway back to grinding my vex rune in clod for hoto rw :lol:

The problem in last ladder was kabraxis / zorun farming - especially if you consider that there are some cheese methods for kabraxis that I cannot fix without a major balance patch (I'd rather not get into details here).

My idea is to reduce SU drops from kabraxis and zorun and to increase *a tiny bit* the drop rates in all other areas to compensate.

Well, making runewords and crafts become more used was part of the reason drops were modified. You won't expect people to use magics and rares right? :)
If you keep the level of accesibility equal to both, people will never pick rws/crafts because a) they take a lot more time to make and b) they are in average weaker (partially because runewords can have up to 7 stats, while uniques up to 12, naturally craft stats go as high as 6)

If boss fight takes less than 30 mins, he should not drop anything better than TU.

increase *a tiny bit* the drop rates in all other areas to compensate
