And what exactly makes you think that character animation is perfectly synchronized between server and client? I have a proof that this stat is completely ignored if it's not assigned to a statlist with the proper state. This code is called on the server side and it's up to the server to decide whether animation should be interrupted or not. Needless to say that following damage is applied on the server side as well, client side is completely irrelevant.

TL;DR I've seen enough to make this conclusion and I would need a solid evidence to convince me otherwise.

I'm not taking into count server gameplay "features" ofc. Talking only about stat itself in fair gameplay. And it can raise early-mid rat survivability by alot. Without it quill storm animation can easily get stopped by any powerful enough hit/hits-in-frame since it takes 13 (!) frames. Ofc stat is not really needed for chars that attacking once in 5-8 frames.

I've been playing with priestess lately and overall IAS does make a difference. And I can't see why it wouldn't.

There is no other way around, this stat is ignored during the gameplay, it does work in vanilla while using Concentration Aura and it never (?) worked in MXL. Unfortunately WYSIWYG rule is not applied to d2 engine, you might find it by yourself when missiles on the client side do no damage at the position where they (visually) spawned/collided or you can take damage or even die from the missile that you can't see on your screen and (presumably) doesn't exist. So my point is that you should never trust the animation and convince yourself that this is exactly what's happening at the giving moment because it's not.

Thanks, but that's a different book called "Ancient Book". It's cubed with the Black Road charm to get to Fauztinville (below)

The one I need is called "Book of Cain" and it is cubed with The Glorious Book of Median to add +1 to all skills

Thank you. That would explain why it doesn't work on the server. How is it in SP? There shouldn't be a delay, so does it work properly there? Because I only play offline, but I still get put into hit recovery animation.

Also, I'd still love to hear a confirmation from someone from the mod team, since they should know best.

Your info is outdated.
For Fautzenville you need the 5 great gems from the kabraxis area.

If you cube ancient book + 5 emblems you get the book of cain, which then adds the bonus to glorious book of median!
